Job responsibilities
-Own spending forecast accuracy by analyzing spending across Chile Business Unit, to understand spending drivers and variance to forecast, identifying opportunities for improvement
-Partner with leadership to accurately plan spending 3-6 months out, as well as helping department leaders understand and execute to their budgets and scope.
-Perform month-end close duties including services and expense recognition, recording financial transactions and accruals, reconciling balances, and identifying and reducing variances.
-Accurately report on the financial status of spending in the region across Cost of Revenues and Operations
-Optimize big-ticket item spending (solicit multiple quotes, research comparables, etc.)
-Work with the Accounts Payable team on payment of services, expense invoicing and escalations
-Work with the People Team to understand and support payroll-related expenses (e.g. tax payments) and support acquisition-related financial integration activities
Actively partner across finance and participate in knowledge sharing, improvement, and efficiency projects across Thoughtworks systems, tools, and processes.
Job qualifications
Technical skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management, Engineering, Accounting or related field required.
You have at least 2 years of professional experience as an financial analyst, accountant or auditor or related role.
Professional skills
-You apply your advanced analytical skills to uncover underlying variables and trends impacting the business and construct useful financial models to help inform and influence decisions.
-Experience with preparation of financial performance reports, including the calculation of various key financial metrics
-You’re a detailed person: organizing data and striving for accuracy of results and forecasts excite you.
-You have a natural ability to connect with others, analyze contract language with respect to business services scope, pricing, discounting, and other relevant terms and conditions.
-Expertise in systems such as Excel.
-Oracle Peoplesoft and Google Business Suite apps are plus.
-You know Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS inside and out
-You understand project management principles and are comfortable applying them to how you work.
-Strong communications skills, both in Spanish and English
-Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment full of sharing and learning in a company with minimal hierarchy. This means no cubicles and no offices.
